Well, I guess it is about time I write my birth story. 🙂 My little Prince is a week old now. (at the time I wrote this anyways)
My mom is here and everything is going great.
Last Tuesday I did all I could to kill time that day so it would pass. My mom and stepdad got to Austin around 5 or 6 and my sister arrived around 7:15. We headed out for Chinese. :lick:
I loved that stuff when I was pregnant but I havent really craved it since.
Anyways around 9 I took 2 Tylenol PM as approved by my OB and went to bed. Didnt get much sleep. Maybe an hour. I sleep more through the night with Will then I did Tuedsay.
I decided I couldn’t sleep anymore around 3:15. That’s 45 minutes before we planned to get up. So DH helped me in the shower and went decided to lie back down. I got out, dressed and woke up the rest of the house.
We were out the door on time!
When we got to the 3rd floor and they took me to the monitoring room I just broke down in tears. I was so overcome with emotion I couldn’t hold back anymore. They weren’t tears of fear or anything like that. I was just finally a little nervous and excited and happy and so many different things all at once. Charlie and the nurse hugged me and then I was hooked up to the monitors.
We waited and waited. I saw my doctor and finally at 7:30 I saw the anestesiolgist. DH helped me into the surgery room as per my docs request and left while they tried the spinal.
It didn’t work. ? She’s tried but it didn’t travel up so they put me under.
I woke up to my mom and Charlie. Charlie was showing me pics and video of Will when they brought him to me. I let him nurse and he latched on immediately! :jump2:
That’s about it. My throat hurt from having been under (that’s the worse part) so I got a little ice.
My family was there and it was wonderful being with everyone that I am close too.
My hospital stay was interesting. He was in the nursery more the first night than I wanted, but I couldn’t sleep so the rest of the time he only left to be assessed.
I let DH go home to get his last few nights of good sleep. I had lots of visitors and we came home Saturday.
Oh….one of Will’s nurse feel head over heels for him so I plan to keep in touch with her. She’s new to town as well so I think I may have a new friend.
