I found a childhood friend on facebook that I have not talked to in about 10 years. We grew apart and lost touch. The past several years I’ve tried to find her and failed! I keep persisting, knowing that SOME day I would find her again and guess what? I found her mom. And sister. Then her! Guess what the best part of all is?! SHe lives about 20 minutes from me. That’s all! How cool is that!? We’ve only talked once (but for about 2 hours) but it was so nice to just talk to someone that knows ME. We had many things to catch up on. She didn’t know I was paralyzed and I didn’t know some of the things that had happened in her life. We also learned that we shared a common, HORRIBLE bond that no one should ever have to share, but we all do eventually. We both lost our Daddies. The same year.
We plan to have dinner soon and fully reconnect, meet each other’s spouse and kid(s). Have you reconnected with anyone you thought you may never see again?!
While on the subject of reconnecting: I also found therapists that worked in the hospital with me back in 1999 when I had my wreck….. not sure what made me want to look but I did and I am so glad I did!

ive reconnected with several friends on facebook, some going all the way back to grade school…there are a couple i still look for on a regular basis but havent turned up any sure fire leads yet, just a couple possibilities and have even sent a couple messages, but no response as of yet. Hopefully this friendship rekindles for you 🙂

I did the same thing recently. I had heard that she had a baby the day before I did at the SAME hospital I was at. What the changes of that. Eventually I found her mom and sister on Facebook and then found her.
We've connected via email and hopefully soon our lives will slow down enough we can actually have some time to talk more and even get together. She also lives just minutes away from us.
Hope you have a great time connecting and that's just another reason why I love the internet and how it connects all of us!
