I did for Will.
I started one for Lucas.
I plan to do my “within reason” dream nursery, this time.
William’s nursery was a rush to buy something because it was cute but it was very gender nuetral. He didn’t get his boy room. It was complete. It was cute. I wasn’t in love.
Lucas’ nursery was never “finished” because when we moved him into it and William wanted to move in too and then we moved to the new house 3? 4? months later.
I have quite a bit of stuff for a boy (from Lucas’ unfinished room) and I know what I want to do with a girl.
I am also the kind of person that knows it’s kind of a waste of money. The baby doesn’t care. However, I DO. I LOVE things to be pretty or cute or look amazing. In the end it’s worth it to me. I’m not going to spend $500 or even $1000 on bedding; that’s way out my league. I will spend something making it look awesome. SO please. Don’t tell me I’ll regret it. It’ll get messy. Blah, blah, blah. I don’t agree. Remember this is my 3rd time. 🙂
I just really want to have a finished, beautiful nursery. That I LOVE.
However, I do want to know what YOU do. If you don’t spend $$ then tell me. If you spent $600 on bedding. Tell me. 🙂
I’ll post sneak peeks of my room choices in a few weeks. 😉

I had a nice coordinated nursery but it wasn’t anything I just absolutely loved. There wasn’t a lot out there 6 years ago that I fell in love with. Hubby was pickier than me though. We also had very short notice. We were matched with a birth mother on Dec. 3 2004 and Charlie was born Jan. 12 2005. I had already started painting the room bright green since we didn’t know if boy or girl prior to the match.
Luckily my SIL always buys the nursery bedding set for any new babies in the family. We didn’t chose a super pricey set, around $150-180 I think. Most of the nursery coordinated but not all of it.

I think decorating a nursery is one of the most wonderful things you can do to welcome your baby to the world…if you’re into that kind of thing, of course. 😉 I certainly am! Both of my girls had nurseries customized just for them including their “signature colors”. Georgia Lou’s nursery was pink and brown with toile and lots of vintage touches. Scarlett Grace’s was pink and red with a cherry blossom motiff. I did it all on a budget using hand-me-downs and craigslist finds. I did splurge on fabric for Georgia and had bedding customized. I found the perfect cherry blossom bedding set for Scarlett in a high-end boutique, and couldn’t pass it up. Totally worth it in every way! Enjoy your decorating! BTW, this is my first time reading and posting on your blog. You’re amazing and inspiring! I am a fellow GF (calilou). Hope to see you around! =)

Welp, I am lazy. Period. I totally LOVE decorated spaces and yet my entire home is one cavernous empty space. Walls are all white, except the ones that were painted when we moved in. My son’s room had green walls, which we painted… white. My daughters’ room is pretty, tho. It’s a nursery. It has yellow walls with a chair rail and just above the chair rail is a “Hey Diddle Diddle” border. It’s cute but the yellow walls makes for really crappy pictures. Everyone looks like they have jaundice.
My friend had a SO cute boys room – instead of a border I think she painted a roadway around the room, around chair-rail height on the wall, and then used those wall stickers of cars & trucks to put on the wall.
