It’s been 2 months since my whirlwind ordeal. I’m home now and things are *slowly* getting back to normal.
I had an MRI last week and saw the neurosurgeon. He was happy with the results and said things look as he would expect them too with me being this far post-op.
I also saw the infectious disease doctor and he said my white count was normal. It had reached pretty frighteningly high numbers.
Those results resulted in a PICC line removal. No more at home IV antibiotics. Now the question is, when will my arm stop aching?
I get to shower with out wrapping body parts in plastic. That rocks.
Now we wait. He said there should be a 95% cure rate and if we are to see a relapse it will most likely be in the first 2 weeks. 4 weeks max.
I’m one week down. So far. So good.
I’m still very weak and we still have work to do; possibly the hardest part yet.
I have to wean off the narcotics and face life as I did before all this started.
Charlie has been working from home, alongside the nanny since we came home.
He goes back to work today.
It helps that my mom is here.
I just want to drive again.
I just want to be 100% pain free (mostly) again.
I know I never posted exactly what happened and I will. I don’t know why I’m putting it off?
I wanted to say I was sorry if any of you saw the mystery post “breakdown” yesterday. It as a post I wrote in mid – January and I’m not ready to share it with everyone yet.
It’s very raw and real and too personal.
I want to share. I probably NEED to share it.
Just not yet.

Sooooo glad things are getting back to normal. Will be thinking of you in the coming weeks as you continue to get back into the routine. So glad your mom is there and you have the extra hands to help 🙂
