I fondly remember my date marking my height on a door EVERY summer I went to visit him. He marked my siblings, even though most of them were grown and no longer growing, and he marked the grandkids.
I am pretty sure my step mom was able to salvage it after Hurricane Katrina hit. I need to call her and ask. If nothing else, I’d LOVE a picture of it.
We bought our house in 2008. Will was almost 4 and Lucas was only 6 months old.
I started the same tradition in our hall bathroom.
We will be marking Nathan for the first time soon. He’s finally runnnig all over the place so it should be doable now. It’s not easy to track height when the little ones aren’t standing steady.
If we ever move I plan to take pictures of it and mark the heights/dates on paper and remark it wherever we go, and frame the pictures next the new space.
Do you mark your kids height? Do you do it directly on the wall or door (which I think is WAY more fun)? Or do you use a paper growth chart? Did anyone in your family keep track of you while growing up?

We do this, too, and it is one of many reasons why I’ll be crushed if we ever leave our home!

We did with the kids at the apartment so I had to take a pic when we moved. My son immediately started a new spot in our current home. It is a very big deal to him.

I use a paper growth chart from eeBoo which is really cute. We rent, so I didn’t want to mark the walls, although I love that idea!

We do it right on the wall in their closet doorway. So fun to look at all the old marks.

Yep, there were small marks on a door frame for me. My Dad started at his house it for my kids but we painted over it during the summer. 🙁

That’s so cool! We still have the markers on our bedroom door, although my children are already grown up… But every time I looks at the small lines, I can remember everything…
