There are many aspects to blogging I enjoy.
The escape I feel when I’m able to sit and write – uninterrupted.
The joy I still get when I write with the 5 interruptions I’ve gotten so far writing this particular post.
I enjoy getting comments that lead me to new and amazing blogs.
I enjoy the conferences I go to. Okay, the ONE conference I’ve been to.
I am beyond appreciative for the many opportunities it’s given me.
I am grateful for the support I’ve gotten from local bloggers that I know are there when I need them for blog related stuff but for whatever reason we haven’t formed friendships.
However, none of that compares to the REAL friendships I’ve made from blogging. The women that are not only there when I need blogging advice but there when I need advice about my kids or about my life. These are the friends I invite into my home and meet for delicious food and cocktails, or shopping.
I can text these woman any time of the day or night and vent or tell them about my joy.
These are the woman I trust.
These woman have become my “tribe”.
I would have never met these women if not for blogging , and these women need not be named.
These women know exactly who they are.

I’m a full time student at the University of Texas at San Antonio. At age 55 I’m a non-traditional student, and as an art major I’m even less traditional. It’s because of this that I found your blog, which, btw, I love. Last fall I was doing research for a sculpture project – we had to start with a chair and transform it – and having chosen a wheelchair I came across your blog. I subscribed to it and have kept reading it, you’ve been an inspiration many times.
The sculpture came out ok, it was a cardboard box filled with a completely disassembled wheelchair, open, with the title “Some Assembly Required.” It was my commentary on how we take for granted so many things.
I’m glad you like blogging. Thanks for sharing.
