It’s very egocentric of me, but my favorite quote is one of my own.
I said it or thought it right after being paralyzed.
My plan was to write a book and this was actually the title and less of a quote, but its always shown up on my websites and online journals, even message board signatures.
It’s a true statement. Yes, I was paralyzed. I would no longer walk, I would be “shorter” and I’d have to make changes in my life but I was still ME.
I was a (young) woman. I wanted a husband, a family.
You can call me whatever you want, but my answer remains the same.

I am a wheelchair user, so are my wife and two sons. We constantly have to tell some moms to allow their children to ask questions. We do not mind. The sooner youngsters accept wheelers, the better integrated and equal we are. Kids are curious, they are direct and tell it like it is.
