Spring Break 2013

Life is busy and hectic and sometimes you just want to be done. Your brain hurts and your body is tired and you are so drained you just have to stop everything.

Will and I reached that point about a month ago. We were constantly at each other’s throats and getting through the school day nearly had us in tears.

I honestly can’t even tell you if it was a gradual transition or if it happened all at once. We just knew we needed  a break.

Charlie was just wrapping up a project, and ready for a break as well, so I planned a Spring break trip.

We booked a condo in Port Aransas. It was perfect but you will have to wait to hear more about it.

My favorite part of vacation is NOT cooking. Kitchen or not, I had no desire to cook all our meals when we were on top of the Gulf and had access to delicious shrimp. It was heaven but I was conflicted.

I wanted to make sure the kids had something healthy while we were gone, so I was thrilled when Stonyfield came out with their new smoothie yogurt drinks.

Nathan would drink these all day long if I let him.

We were buying a competitive brand but it’s full of added sugar and mystery fruit. Stonyfield is organic and loaded with calcium. The kids might not choose it over goldfish but they will at least drink it WITH their goldfish.

Correction: My 8 year-old is reading over my shoulder and said that NO, he would pick this over goldfish. Good to know!

Of course we ate this yogurt shipment long before we left for our trip, but we made sure to stock up for the road. These fit perfectly in my little guy’s hands and even the big kids love them.

The real question is this: Does Nathan like the yogurt or the straw?
