We have had quite the summer.
So far we’ve been taking it easy and this past weekend everything started piling on like mad.
We decided about 3 weeks ago that Lucas would need surgery to remove his tonsils and adnoids. They will also recauterize his nose while they have him under. They can do things a little more invasively than they did in the in/out office visit.
Why all of this you ask!? Well, he snores and he’s always tired. That’s not normal for a 5 year-old. They should be bouncing off the walls, FULL of energy, not crying because they are too tired to go out and have fun. They ran blood work – TWICE. It’s always normal. So, we went to the ENT again, this time for possible sleep apnea. He took one look at Lucas’ tonsils and said YES – let’s get those out. So there you have it. We booked surgery for my 5 year old.
This weekend my 8.5 year old was at a TaeKwonDo lock-in. . . You think you know where this is going but you do not….
They were playing dodge ball and his friend fell on his foot. . . and it broke.
He fought through the pain all night so he could sleep at his friends but we insisted on taking him straight to the after-hours clinic. The metatarsal connected to his big toe is broken.
He’s now wearing a boot and using crutches. Will is going back for follow-up X-rays the day before so it will be a busy week.
Probably NOT the best month to start my new The Pampered Chef business huh?
Have your kids ever had surgery or a broken bone!?

YES!!! My 19 yo, who was 12 at the time, decided to do donuts with a full roll bar attached our golf cart, it flipped and it landed on his foot. Broke in 3 places. He had to have the cast removed and replaced twice for wet plaster due to his NOT wrapping it while bathing. Longest 10 weeks of my life with that.
Hope it’s a speedy recovery for you! I just found your blog and WOWSA! You are an amazing woman and gorgeous to boot, too!
Glad I did find you and have a fab week!!

Thank you Stacia and WELCOME!
Luckily, they don’t do cast anymore .. they do BOOTS .. I didn’t want to hear the complaining that would surely come out of my kid if he’d needed a cast. 🙂
