Photoability is the fantastic creation of Deborah Davis! In short, photoability is a place for stock photos of physically disabled people, taken BY their family, friends, and themselves (I take selfies, don’t you??!) in such a way that TRULY represents them.
The goal is to encourage advertisers to step outside of their comfort zone and pick us.
How awesome is that?!
All too often you see a grumpy, sickly person in a wheelchair or amputee, not someone happy and living life. You don’t see someone like me.
In honor of Mother’s Day, there is a special Mother’s Day Collection on the website. I’m honored to be included., with a few other wheelchair Moms. Thanks Deborah!
You can see an article, where I’m quoted on this site!
Please, check out the collection on Photoability and the many other collections on the site. I think this is a fabulous opportunity for paras/quads and various other disabilities to be seen in REAL settings.
I think it’s a fabulous opportunity for YOU to change your perception and see that wheelchairs are not barriers. They do not keep us from doing everything that you do. Ski Vacations. Sailing adventures. Air travel. Dating. Weddings. Babies.

I totally wrote a blog yesterday called I See White People. I totally didn’t think about accessibility photos as something to add in “diversity” pictures. I’m updating my blog NOW and linking to this post! Thank you for opening MY eyes even more! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
