I wanted to go for a change back in September and I decided to cut all of my very long beautiful hair. Now I am growing out my pixie.
It was so much fun. For a while. Now looking back I regret it. It wasn’t worth a few weeks of sassiness! Really it was not. NOTE TO SELF: IT WAS NOT WORTH IT. Next time, I should just buy a wig! Ha.
The Cut
I’m Writing this post to remind myself of how beautiful my hair can be and how much I don’t want to ever cut it that short again! Growing your hair out is painful and tedious.
Let’s be honest, taking care of short hair is painful. When I had long hair I could just pull it back on bad days or straighten it. Straightening always made bad days good days.
Styling short hair takes FAR more time and far more product. It is NOT easier. IT IS NOT!
This seems to be a “hair bug” I get about every 5 years. It takes another 5 before I ever actually cut it this short. (The last time Will was a tiny baby!)
It should also serve as inspiration for anyone cutting and Growing out a pixie.
I first cut my hair the beginning of September and around Thanksgiving I started taking this cheap hair skin and nails supplement from target. I truly think I saw significant growth after that. See for yourself below.
I Chose not to go if any of the MLM hair skin and nail products because they were 5 to 6 times as expensive as the cheap ones from target and the main ingredient for growth is biotin.
Growing out my pixie After taking Biotin.
Have you ever chopped all your hair off?! How long did it take to grow out? Did you use anything special to help speed things up? Did it actually work!? Do you keep your hair short?
I’ll update you again in March and again in June and September!

I took inspiration from you and had mine cut short in November, but am in the same situation as well. Regret having it so short, and true it is not easy. Can’t wait for it to grow back. Good luck

wow your hair grows fast!!
I tried the biotin but actually broke out with it. Pimples and rash!?
I was trying to thicken mine up and help re-grow out the ‘bangs’ phase that lasted all of three days before I started tucking them back in.
Good luck!

Never ever in my life had I had short hair. Until February of 2014 when I chopped my knee length hair off into an extremely short pixie. There are lots of reasons I did it and as much of a pain as short hair is compared to long hair, I’m glad I did it. I never learned how to style my hair and my thinking was if I HAVE to do my hair, I’m damn well gonna learn, you know?!? I kept the pixie for a few months, then grew it to a bob and now I’d classify it as a lob and is finally ponytail length. Thankfully, my hair does grow pretty fast and I rep for a direct sales company that has a hair and nails supplement that while admittedly is more expensive than box store stuff seems to do the trick for me! I’d say I have 3-4 or so inches of new growth since late September.
And I totally think the pixie looks great on you!!!
