What’s in a name?

I’m a little to late to play along with Momfessionals in Show & Tell Tuesday: What’s in a name?, but I thought it would make a GREAT post anyways.

William Arthur was going to originally be Malcolm Arthur but my MIL begged me not to use Malcolm as a first name. It was my grandmother’s maiden name so it has sentimental value to me. It was also my MIL’s father and brother’s name. Double sentiment. I couldn’t use it as his middle name because William was to be the 4th or 5th first born son and everyone has used Arthur as the middle name. I didn’t want to break tradition. We decided on William because it is a HUGE name on both sides of our families.

Lucas Malcolm – I can’t remember why we decided on Lucas but  I LOVE the name. Malcolm I explained with Will’s history.

Nathaniel Patrick – Originally he was going to be Patrick Louis. My mother-in-law’s name was Patricia Louise so it was meant to honor her. Will begged me not to name him Patrick. There was an incredibly mean boy in his class with that name. It took us a long time to find a name we loved that went well with Patrick.

Priscilla Katheryn – I was either going to be Chloe, Crystal or Priscilla. If I was a boy I was going to be Elvis. Katheryn was my grandmother’s triplet. She died at birth, leaving my Grandma and their brother. 

Charles Arthur … I don’t think I ever heard the story on how his parents picked Charles.
