There are a lot of VERY unhappy people in the world right now so I want to focus on the positive and things I am grateful for.
I am doing this EVERYDAY, all month, on instagram, but if you missed it, I will share it here!
Nov. 1
I can’t express enough how much blogger friends have made my world better. I give thanks everyday for women and men like Traci.
Nov. 2
Today I am Grateful for my new wheelchair and good insurance that paid for the entire thing. I am now part of the #tilite family – do you see my little photo bomber?
Today I am #grateful for my home. It is more than I had ever hoped for, and everyday I’m in awe that it’s ours.
Nov. 4
Today I am #grateful for #modernmedicine and skilled #doctors and #surgeons and I #givethanks to live so close to one of the best #childrenshospital in the great state of #texas
Nov. 5
Today I am #grateful we can donate to charities. We don’t do it every year but I love stuffing an #operationchristmaschild box full of goodies for an eager #littleboy. Lucas was so eager to help me pack them.
Nov. 6
I am #grateful for one one one time with my #middleson. It’s not always easy to give your kids individual attention and I feel so guilty dividing myself. It’s nice just to focus on one
Nov. 7
Today I am #Grateful to be a #homeschool family. I #givethanks that we live in a state gives me the freedom to do what I feel is best for my children. If I decide it no longer works I can choose a different way. Whether that means new curriculum or sending them to public school or private school I have so much flexibility
Nov. 8
I’m #Grateful for amazing friends and hoping this sweet lady is the next #firstladay of #pflugerville! (P.S. The didn’t win ?)
Nov. 9
Today I am #Grateful for #co-op and 2 quiet hours after being up most of the night to watch those #electionresults roll across my screen!
Nov. 10
Today I am #grateful for our local #martialarts studio @risemartialarts – our family has been with them for almost 8 years. They were our community when we first moved to #Pflugerville. It’s how we connected to so many amazing people and felt like we were part of the #community! I can’t believe it’s been that long!

Always good to count your blessings. We’ve been studying a book on blessings – “To Bless This Space Between Us” by John O’Donohue for the past 2 months in a weekly class. It really lifts our spirits every day. Your chair looks very nice! Great that insurance paid for it all; does everyone in Texas who needs a chair have full insurance for them?
Priscilla says
No. we already met our premiums because of my hospital stay earlier in the year so that’s why it was fully covered
Jim says
I don’t understand……. Do you pay every year for health insurance?
Priscilla says
We pay monthly premium whether we use it or not. And they pay XYZ percentage of all medical expenses. Let’s say my copay on the kids’ doctor’s because visit is $25. Insurance then pays whatever else the visit cost. If my surgery and My hospital visit cost $100,000 I have to pay the first $5000 because that’s my personal deductible, but everything after that is 100% covered
Priscilla says
However we pay lower premiums, with the anticipation that we won’t be getting sick. We could pay more per month and then only have a $1000 deductible… there dozen different configurations you can choose depending on your insurance company and how many employees your employer has
Jim says
Sorry for the delay. I can’t even imagine a $5,000 deductible. Medicare is free in most provinces from “dollar one” – for all doctor’s appointments and hospital operations. And I am fortunate that even as a retiree that my employer pays all medications with no coinsurance (co-pay). Dental and Vision and physio have coinsurance and a small deductible.
Priscilla says
I’m on my husband’s insurance not Medicare. Let’s move on. You think the US health care system sucks. I get it. Blah. Blah.
My husband and I are happy with what we have and have ZERO problems paying for things ourselves until insurance deductibles are met.
Priscilla says
I apologize for being rude but you should really stop going about something I’m happy with.

My TiLite is 3 years old, and I like it very much. Reliable and responsive.
A word about insurance if I may, please. You are blessed. Medicare declared custom wheelchairs luxuries and will pay a maximum of $1500 per 5 years. Many insurance companies are following their lead. Now custom cushions are under fire. We all need to work together to get Congress to act on our behalf.
Thanks for all you do for our little “community.”
George Rector´s last blog post ..The dog ate my PT

If I had not already met my insurance premiums I would’ve paid for the entire thing out of pocket
