Skipper
Skipper is our youngest and smallest cat and he’s been missing since Sunday night. My husband saw him relaxing on the sofa on the patio, but went to do something else. He came back about an hour later and he was gone. He called out for him a few times and he didn’t show up.
We didn’t think too much of it because he’s had done this before.
The next day I was busy with school and honestly forgot about him but that night when the Cub Scouts were playing outside and he wasn’t running and skipping amongst them, my husband grew concerned.
We Searched the entire neighborhood and learned that the neighbor diagonally behind us has an identical cat. Another neighbor thought he found him for us.
Needless to say, we are all devastated. We have followed the advice of a kitty search expert and still no luck. She doesn’t seem to be eager to take our money to do the search herself, so I guess at this point we just wait.
Birthday lunch
Today I am 35. My grandmother would be 101.
My sweet friend Tonia treated us to lunch yesterday. It Was great to see her. Our lives have been so busy that I can’t remember the last time we actually got to get him there. She lives across town, about 45 minutes away, so that makes it more challenging. We are not giving up. We still make an effort!
I love you girl. Thank you so much!
We have been attending the same taekwondo studio since we moved to Pflugerville in 2008. Well I guess Will didn’t actually start until 2009…
Anyways we have made some very long-term friendships there that I am forever grateful to have in our lives.
The family that owns the studio is just amazing.
Anyways when Lucas was little he couldn’t wait until he was old enough to start.
Nathan on the other hand? He keeps saying no! He’s been old enough now for six months. Last night one of the kids that I’ve known from the beginning took him in one of the spare classrooms and did a little mini demo class for him. He seemed to love it and didn’t want it to be over. I guess we will see if he wants to do his trial class next week.
Cub scouts
This week the Cub Scouts took recyclables and up-cycled them into really cool projects. This of course led to Lucas wanting to do more and more projects throughout the week. I have several things that look similar to this scattered all throughout the house now.
InGuess I shouldn’t complain because this is a fun and easy science project!
Homeschool
School is going really well. It’s always easy to teach just one child but when you throw two and three into the mix, that’s when things get complicated.
We have been spending a great deal of our afternoons outside because the weather has been absolutely beautiful.
My house is not staying as clean as I want it to, but I am trying to throw chores into the mix disguised as home-ec. It’s semi working.
Nathan likes to dump math manipulatives on the floor and doesn’t really want to stick around for any of our history or science stories, but it least he’s exploring a few things.
William is still happy and very content with public school. We are making no permanent decisions for next year until we have to. He meets with the six grade counselors later this month and also gets to look at all the different instrument options as well.
Jim says
Happy Birthday! Sorry about Skippers.
