PediaQ launches in the Austin Market!
If you are a parent, you know how often kids get sick. Sometimes you just need to talk to a nurse, so he can assure you that your little one is just fine and you don’t need to come in to the clinic. Of course, you also know that this frequently happens after hours.
PediaQ just launched their mobile application platform for after hours pediatric nurse triage and house calls in the Austin market on September 3, 2016. How fantastic is that?
PediaQ will begin serving Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Leander neighborhoods. Pflugerville will come later in the year so I have NOT had a chance to sample their services yet!!
When can you use the service and how much does it cost?!
Patients (parents) will be able to speak directly with a pedatric nurse and get immediate answers for their questions with just a tap of a button – FREE. Nurses will be on-demand from 2-10PM every weekday and 8am-10PM on weekends.
They even have a house call service available on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am8pm. You must pay your standard co-pay and a $25 convenience fee.
Someone is finally paying attention. They realize our kids get sick at night or on the weekend.
I can not tell you how often we have sat down to eat dinner only to have someone complain their ear hurts, or worse, throw up on the floor. To make it even better (or worse), it usually happens when Daddy is working late and I don’t want to drag all the kids out on a Friday evening.
So what if you don’t have Insurance? The standard visit is $150. That is less than what a parent would pay to have a child seen at an ER or urgent care facility. Nothing beats not needing to leave the comfort of your home when you have sick child.
The innovative service has been an instant hit with parents across North Texas. I can’t wait until they are serving the Pflugerville market.
PediaQ has successfully demonstrated how to meet their needs. They have already made over 3,000 house calls since it’s launch last fall.
PediaQ powered by Q.care technology delivers exceptional after hours pediatric care in the comfort and safety of your home, providing parents convenience and peace of mind. I still have trouble figuring out why this sort of thing normally costs money in the US. Here in Canada, it is always free.

It cost money so the doctor can actually get paid money, so he can live.
Providing for yourself and not having the government do it is not bad thing.

Canadian doctors still get paid rather handsomely. No doctor gets a low wage. They aren’t government employees – they still have their private practices. There are benefits to the American method – shorter wait times. But no one in Canada gets refused health care at any hospital in the country and nobody goes bankrupt trying to pay their hospital bills. No none loses health benefits when they change jobs or become unemployed. Interesting differences. Advantages on both sides.
