It’s always been a struggle to fill my editorial calendar. It seems I am always wracking my brain with what to post and when and whether I should have a regular schedule or not. This is really tough as a lifestyle/mommy/style blogger.
I bought a cute little planner on Amazon and the blank pages were calling out to me. This planner is very similar to a well known more expensive planner, but at a fraction of the price. That’s a win in my book!
Mentally, I quickly filled in every Wednesday with a Stylish Gimp and every Friday with Friday Fragments. That was already 104 posts completely scheduled for the year and it took no time at all. That left 1-3 days/ to fill.
I was thinking about how to fill the gaps when I quickly remembered why I enjoy blogging in the first place.
I blog to share our life and I haven’t really been doing that.
If you are a regular reader you saw my Weekend Wrap Up post this past Monday. This is my favorite type of post to write. Done. Now I filled up another 52 posts for a grand total of 156 posts.
How I filled my Editorial Calendar in ONE minute.
If I wanted to I could call it done and really it took no time at all. Just a minute to realize what I want to most see on my blog.
For now my Tuesdays and my Thursdays are blank. I can schedule any sponsored posts that comes along or anything that needs more than a quick blurb or recap.
If nothing comes along my blog is still full and my blog is still true.
Have you started planning your 2016 yet?! How will you fill your editorial calendar!? Do you use the WordPress calendar or do you use paper!? For the record, I use both!

This is the simple explanation I’ve been needing for forever!!! Every time I sit down to do an editorial calendar (even for just a week at a time) I get so overwhelmed by all of the possibilities. I can’t wait to use your method!!!

Hello, great post… I have yet to do my editorial calendar. I have found loads of free digital ones, but there is something nice about having an object in your hands. Somehow it means more. #TwinklyTuesday

I have yet to do any scheduling, and I really need to. When I have a free time and space to think and concentrate, I need to do this. Thanks for the motivation!

Look how organized you are! I need to get one of these . . . I have sticky notes and note cards and scraps of paper all over the place. This is totally not working either! 2016 is the year to get myself organized!

This is so smart. I am definitely going to do this myself. It will help me plan ahead and stay on track!

I really need to work on my 2016 calendar. I planned a little too much this fall, thankfully I use sticky notes, so I’m just moving them over a few days. Once I catch up it will be time to think of 2016!
