Lucas is 7

My second born baby boy turns seven today. 

I can’t believe it was seven years ago today that I woke up in such agony and pain from the abruption, but it was so quickly forgotten when this little bundle of absolute perfection and joy came into our lives. The pride on Will’s face just lit up the room. He was finally a BIG BROTHER!

Lucas has always been my calm and laid-back son, from day one. He just goes with the flow and sometimes stands up for himself and he doesn’t like whatever his brothers you’re doing. He tries hard to be the peacemaker.

We asked him this morning if he felt different now that he’s seven and he said, “Yes!”. Silly boy. Lucas loves Star Wars The Clone Wars and Rescue bots. He is currently a Level 3 green belt in TaeKwonDo and will be crossing over to a Wolf in Cub Scouts. Time really needs to slow down.

It’s cliché but I cautiously look forward to the next seven years and how he changes and grows into a young man instead of the little boy. I know it will fly, but my one hope is that it doesn’t go quite as quickly and that I can savor each and every moment.
