When I still had my style blog (geez what was I thinking splitting my traffic into two?)I used to do a monthly haul!
It was mostly about accountability because I think we all have this idea that we don’t spend that much throughout the month but when we sit down and are honest with ourselves and others about it we realize we sometime spent more than we mean to. My goal is no more than $200/month.
Now keep in mind this is only MY clothes/shoes/purse. If I don’t stay within my goal I try to make it the next month. This month I definitely went over! I came in at $303. Ouch.
Last week I was visiting a few new blogs and somebody did their May haul a few days early and I realized that I want to go ahead and do one this month! So here goes!
My May haul:
- Pink Cabi jeans-$108 + tax/shipping?
- Cabi jeans on eBay-$26
- Ombré jeans and B&W blouse from Banana republic Outlet – I used my $20 cash & used 40% off code so the total spent was $35 (it was the shipping that killed me!)
- Target top-$25
- Target palazzo-$20
- Marshalls dress/saint tropez west $29 (not pictured, come back for WIWW)
- Marshalls shoes/blowfish $20
- Ross purse $40 (not pictured, come back for WIWW)
Do you have a clothing budget that you try to stick to? How well does that work for you?

I need to start doing a haul! Sorry you blew your budget but your haul looks awesome!
XOXO

Thanks babe! It was … except the palazzo pants. I liked them until I saw them on the model….. grrr.
I actually have the opposite problem. I struggle with shopping and put it off until I struggle to get dressed. Do you have any tips on where to start when you know you need some things?

Hi Christy!
So much of that depends on your time and budget. To be honest I LOVE Goodwill. You can find amazing deals if you have time to look. If you don’t want to dig through quite so much but still want to shop on a budget Ross/TJ Maxx and marshalls are fabulous.
Target is another go-to for more trendy pieces. They are cheap and always on trend.
If budget is not a huge deal, I always know I can trust Banana Republic and CAbi for jeans and cute tops.
I should have one. I am trying to keep better track of my spending because I set a goal to get things paid off!

Ours too … somehow we always pay everything off and go and make another big purchase that puts us back in the red. UGH.
So cute! I love the palazzo!
Thank you. They look better in person!
I’m really trying to stick to a budget too. It’s so hard with all of these cute summer clothes out in store now!

YES. Summer clothes are so darn cute. Especially all those bright colors and dresses! 🙁
I have a shopping budget but one way I’ve compromised with my husband on the budget (he’d like to keep it as low as possible!) is that whenever I sell or consign something, I get to put that money into my shopping budget. So it’s a great incentive to consistently go through things and get rid of what I don’t want or use!

I really should do that …. I keep saying I will but then I just don’t. Goodwill drops are much easier. 🙁
Love your finds! I especially love those shoes! I don’t really have a clothing budget, but that’s mostly because I don’t enjoy clothes shopping. I know – unthinkable, right?! 🙂

How can you not like shopping! Unthinkable! 🙂 Hehehe
Honestly? I do not spend more than $200 in a single year on myself.
I hate shopping and will wear my clothes until replacing them are absolutely necessary (preferably in a smaller size).
I may have to head your direction and steal you away for you to help dress me! haha! Seriously, I will always go to black slacks and a variety of blouses for work. I have zero weekend wear and nothing fun or springy.

I would love to take you shopping. You tell me when! That would be a blast.
Thank you for sharing your May haul better late than never. I love everything you bought. I recently went shopping for the first time for myself in a long time. I didn’t even look at the price tags. But, that will never happen again!! YIKES!!!

It’s only 2 days late. I actually bought my purse on the last day of May so I had to wait, heheh.
I always look at price tags. I think my DH would be a little annoyed if Idid not. haha.
Great finds! Gosh, $200/month seems high to me and I love clothes, shoes and more. Good for you though 🙂

I guess $200/months does sound like a lot, but it’s less than $2500/year. 😀
I have been trying so hard to get a style I like together. I have lost over 100 lbs in the last 2 years and it seems like every style i try is made for the ‘old size me’ or made for an “i”m not quite there yet” I get so frustrated to the point of tears. I have tried so hard. I just want to look like I feel sometimes.

I’ll take a peek at your blog and see if I have any ideas for you. I am so sorry this is frustrating for you. Clothes should be fun!
Stop it with right now with the OMBRE pants from BR!!! I love all of the great clothes you found.
They are just perfect aren’t they?! I love them!
Great shopping haul! I actually only shop once or twice a year. I’m always looking for a great sale. I’m quite picky so it seems to take me forever to find what I like. I only shop once or twice a year, because it takes me almost 6 months to find what I like! Lots of window shopping & online browsing!
I do a TON of window shopping, but I just can’t resist a few new pieces …. it’s a guilty pleasure.
I think my favorite are those cabi jeans!

We live in a rural area, so we only have a few neighbors. We like to do outdoor activities with them like sledding and swimming and flashlight tag. Your dress is gorgeous!! That is a wow outfit! Susan
